HAWKS FINISH THIRD AT LAFAYETTE SIX-WAY

EASTON, PA (03/29/03) -- Freshman Andria Smythe medaled in three events to help the Hawks place third at the Lafayette Six-Way on Saturday. The Jamaican native finished first in the 100m (12.3) and long jump (17'10 3/4") and third in the 200m (25.5). Three other Hawks won events as well in the cold, wet day at Lafayette. Freshman Thuy Nguyen was a winner in the 800m (2:16.6) and senior Sarah Conway took home a gold in the 1500m (4:43.42). In the 3000m, junior Amy Manwaring won with a time of 10:29.0, while freshman Ann Regan placed third (10:51.2). Junior Erin Blaustein finished second in the long jump with a leap of 16'7." SJU returns to action next weekend at the Duke Invitational.
