PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's track team took fourth place at the Fordham Invitational on Friday, January 5 in the Bronx. The Hawks were led by junior Jordan Teuber and freshman Nicole McMullen, who both scored in multiple events. St. John's took the overall team title with 101 points.
Teuber placed fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 25.97 seconds. She also took sixth in the 60m, running the race in 8.10 seconds in the preliminaries before improving to 8.05 in the finals. McMullen took second in the long jump, leaping 17' 11". She also ran on the fourth-place 4x400 relay squad, running the group's fastest leg with a 58.81.
Other notable performances included senior co-captain Valerie Ramirez' fourth-place finish in the 60m hurdles (9.38), and a pair of second-place finishes in distance races from sophomores Andrea Florida and Amy Rhein. Florida ran the mile in 5:13.41, while Rhein turned in a 19:03.88 in the 5000m.
The Hawks next take to the oval on Saturday, January 13 at the Penn State Relays in State College, PA.
