CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Pierra Henry had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Charlotte overcame poor shooting by both teams as it defeated Saint Joseph's, 52-40, in the regular-season finale at Halton Arena.

Saint Joseph's (17-12; 8-8 A-10) now awaits its seeding and opponent for the Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be played for the first time in Brooklyn. The Hawks will begin play in the Opening Round on Thursday, March 14.

Holding a 39-36 lead with 7:40 to play, Charlotte (20-10; 8-8) scored 10 of its final 13 points from the foul line, while Saint Joseph's went without a field goal in the final 8:23.

Saint Joseph's led, 19-18, at halftime, but Charlotte opened the second half with an 10-4 run, to take a 28-23 lead. The Hawks would trail the rest of the way and only tie it once, 36-36, on a putback by C.J. Aiken at 8:23, which was SJU's last field goal of the game.

With the score tied, the 49ers would start their trips to the foul line, while the final basket of the game with three seconds to go waas their only field goal in the final eight minutes.

The Hawks shot just 29.2 percent from the field in the game, and 13.6 percent from three-point range. The 49ers converted 32.6 percent and made their only three-pointer in 13 attempts with three seconds remaining.

The teams played a sloppy first half combining for a total of 20 turnovers.

Langston Galloway was the only Hawk in double figures with 13 points, with 10 of those coming in the first half. Aiken, Ronald Roberts and Carl Jones had eight points each.

Willie Clayton added 12 points for Charlotte while Chris Braswell had 10.

It was Saint Joseph's lowest point total since a 56-39 loss at Villanova on February 6, 2007.
