PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's baseball team will play in the Liberty Bell Classic Championship Game on Tuesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park. The Hawks will take on the Penn Quakers in the title game of the 21st edition of the annual event.

Tickets for the game are available for $5 and will be on sale at the First Base Gate at Citizens Bank Park on the night of the event. Parking will be available free of charge in Lot P, which is located on the corner of Pattison Avenue and Darien Street; the lot is across Darien Street from Citizens Bank Park.

The Philadelphia 76ers are hosting the Indiana Pacers on April 17 as well, with that contest tipping off at 7:00 p.m. at the nearby Wells Fargo Center. All other parking lots will charge $15 for access, so Hawk fans are encouraged to arrive early to assure a spot in Lot P.

Saint Joseph's advanced to the title game for the first time since 2003, the last time the tournament was played at Veterans Stadium, and the third time overall. This will mark the Hawks' first trip to the Phillies' current home.

SJU defeated Temple, 4-1, on March 27 before topping Delaware, 3-2, in the semifinals on April 3. Penn trounced Villanova, 11-4, in the quarterfinals before dispatching La Salle, 9-4, to set up the title tilt next Tuesday.

The Liberty Bell Classic is an annual tournament featuring eight area Division I baseball programs - Delaware, La Salle, Lafayette, Lehigh, Penn, Saint Joseph's, Temple, and Villanova - in a single elimination format. Quarterfinal and semifinal matchups are played at campus sites, while the championship game is held at Citizens Bank Park. Villanova defeated Delaware, 7-6, to win the 2011 title. A first-time champion will be crowned this season as neither Saint Joseph's nor Penn has claimed the title in the event's two-decade history.
