PHILADELPHIA - While many college students are relaxing for the first few weeks of summer break, the Saint Joseph's field hockey team is not resting on its laurels. In fact, the Hawks are departing on June 7 for a "working vacation" of sorts, taking in the sights and sounds of Spain while taking on local clubs in exhibition contests. The Hawks will conclude the trip with a pair of games in the Netherlands as well.

The team is set to arrive in Barcelona, Spain, on June 8, with the first match against Castelldefels Hockey Club slated for the following day. The Hawks will then have the opportunity to immerse themselves the culture and history of Barcelona before facing off with Club Egara on June 12.

After that, it's off to Madrid, the capital of Spain, where SJU will take on HC Pozuelo on June 15 before departing Spain the following day.

The Hawks will then head to the Netherlands for a pair of matches in the city of Nijmegen. Considered the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen celebrated its 2,000th year of existence in 2005. While in the historic city, the Hawks will meet a pair of Dutch opponents before returning home to the United States on June 19.
