Men's Rowing Opens Season on March 20 at Jesuit Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team will open the 2010 season on Saturday, March 20, at the 11th annual Jesuit Invitational on the Cooper River.

The Hawks are preparing for the season with a Spring Break training trip to South Carolina from March 6-13.

The Hawks will then compete at the Murphy Cup on April 3 on the Schuylkill River and then compete in the Knecht Cup on April 10-11 on Cooper River. The Hawks' lightweight crew will travel to Holy Cross on April 10 and then to Harvard on April 11.

SJU's heavyweight crew will take part in the SIRA Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tenn. on April 17-18. During that weekend, the lightweights will compete at Princeton on April 17.

SJU returns to Philadelphia on April 24 for the Bergen Cup and then competes in the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta on May 7-8, also on the Schuylkill.

The Hawks' lightweight crew will take on Penn and Navy in Philadelphia on May 1 and then travel to the EARC in Worcester, Mass. on May 16.

The IRA Championship is set for June 3-5 on Cooper River.
