HAWKS COMPETE AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY INVITATIONAL

BOSTON , MA (01/26/02) - The Saint Joseph's University women's track team competed at the Boston University Invitational this past Saturday, January 26. Senior Bernadette Speer led the way for the Hawks, placing third in the high jump with a distance of 5'05.75" while senior Brooke Gilliford finished 12th in the 200 meter (26.31) in a field of 60 runners. Gilliford bested competitors from Seton Hall, Columbia and Fordham. Other highlights for the Hawks included an 18th place finish for freshman newcomer Colleen Flanagan in the mile (5:14.25) beating a 57 runner field. Junior Maisha Tyler also posted solid numbers for the Hawks in the long jump with a distance of 17'09.0". The Hawks will travel to Delaware on Saturday, February 2, when they will compete at the Delaware University Invitational.
