Men's Rowing Varsity 4 Takes Fourth in Third Final at IRA

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's rowing Varsity 4 earned a fourth-place finish in the third final at the IRA Regatta on June 5 at Cooper River. The IRA serves as the sport's national championship.

The Hawks advanced to the third final after beating Drexel in the semifinal. In the final, SJU took a lead and held it through the first 500 meters. Harvard overtook SJU coming into the final 1,000 meters, to finish first with the Hawks taking fourth ahead of Navy and Drexel.

SJU's crew consisted of: Stroke- Ryan Huck; 3- Max Schipper; 2- Tim Strybuc; Bow- Glenn Griffin; Cox- Sarah Jost.

Saint Joseph's wrapped up 2010 with strong performances at both the Dad Vail Regatta and IRA with a young crew that expects to build on this progress in 2011.
