NEW YORK, NY (02/09/02)- Maisha Tyler placed third this past weekend at the Armory Invitational in the long jump for the Saint Joseph's women's track team. Tyler jumped 18'4.25" for the Hawks besting competitiors from Delaware State, UConn, Syracuse, Army and La Salle. Tyler also placed in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.18 seconds. In the 200, senior Brooke Gilliford placed 17th with a time of 26.13, while teammate Yasmine Copeland finished in 27.78 seconds. Other highlights for the Hawks included a fourth place finish by freshman Colleen Flanagan in the "B" mile race (5:12.68) and an 11th place finish by Sarah Conway in the 800 (2:18.85). Sophomore Karen Weber finished the 3000-meter event with a time of 10:33.49. The Hawks next compete on Saturday, February 16, when they travel to Rhode Island to compete in the Atlantic 10 indoor track Championships.
