PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph’s women’s track and field team will travel to Amherst, Massachusetts this weekend for the 2014 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The two-day meet will be held at the University of Massachusetts from Saturday, May 3 through Sunday, May 4 as the UMass Track and Field Complex will play host to the top athletes from 13 teams across the league.

Heading into the weekend, four Hawks currently rank in the league’s top ten of three different individual events while the 4x1, 4x4, and 4x8 own top-10 spots.

The Atlantic 10 Championships will kick off on Saturday, May 3 at 8:45 a.m. with the women’s heptathlon. The Hawks will open competition at 10:00 a.m. with participation in the 10k.

100m: Carly McGowan
Trials – Saturday – 3:15 PM • Finals – Sunday – 12:20 PM
McGowan owns a season-best 100m of 13.12 heading into Saturday's trials. McGowan posted her 100m PR (12.64) at last season's Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

200m: Courtney Foster, Katie Koss, Mercedes Yanora
Trials – Saturday – 4:45 PM • Finals – Sunday – 1:35 PM
Foster, Koss, and Yanora will represent the Hawks in the 200m trials on Saturday afternoon. Foster owns Saint Joseph's top 200m time of the season (25.13), followed by Yanora (25.56) and Koss (25.85). Saturday preliminaries will mark Yanora's third consecutive time competing in the A-10 200m outdoor race, and the senior's season-best 200m performance also stands as her PR heading into the trials. 

400m: Ashley Gerald, Marina Rufo
Trials – Saturday – 2:45 PM • Finals – Sunday – 12:05 PM
Rufo ran her season-best 400m (1:00.00) just this past weekend at the Lehigh Games and posted her PR in the event (59.93) at the A-10 Outdoor Championships last season. Championships. Gerald owns a season-best 57.69 heading into her first A-10 Outdoor Championship meet.

800m: Taylor Oskowiak, Sara Radzwilka, Katie Pratt
Trials – Saturday – 3:45 PM • Finals – Sunday – 12:40 PM
All three Hawks representing SJU in the 800m this weekend boast PRs in the event that have all been set this outdoor season. Radzwilka's most recent 800m performance at the Widener Invitational came as a PR and team-best time (2:16.17) in the event this outdoor season. No stranger to the A-10 Championship scene, Pratt will enter her fourth consecutive outdoor A-10 meet this Saturday and ran her PR in the event (2:16.80) in her most recent 800m race, at the Colonial Relays.   heading into the trials. Oskowiak ran a PR 2:22.18 at the Colonial Relays, which is .94 seconds faster than her performance from 2013 A-10s. 

1500m: Lizzy Barrett, Tess Doggett, Emma Slattery
Finals – Sunday – 11:15 AM
After breaking her two-year PR in the event by over 10 seconds at the Colonial Relays, Barrett ran a season- and career-best 1500m in 4:33.90 at Widener entering her final Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship. Slattery owns a season-best 4:43.56 while Doggett ran a 4:49.46 at Widener. 

5000m: Erin Giampietro, Erin James, Maureen O'Donnell
Finals – Sunday – 2:15 PM
A group of veterans in Giampietro, James, and O'Donnell will represent the Hawks in the 5k on Sunday afternoon. Giampietro's season-best time of 17:40.57 stands an entire 1:15 faster than her 5k at last season's A-10 Championships. James took 12th in the event in 2013 while O'Donnell will enter her final outdoor league championship with a season-best 5k time of 17:53.83.

10,000m: Hannah Fuller, Erin Giampietro
Finals – Saturday – 10:00 AM
Seniors Giampietro and Fuller rank eighth and ninth, respectively, in league 10k ranks. Giampietro (38:19.39) and Fuller (38:39.96) both rank 10k PRs, and Giampietro competed in the event at the 2013 A-10 Outdoor Championships. 

4x1: Courtney Foster, Carly McGowan, Katie Koss, Mercedes Yanora
Finals – Sunday – 10:50 AM
Saint Joseph's 4x4 of Foster, McGowan, Koss, and Yanora own SJU's fastest performance of the season in 48.83, set two weekends ago at the Larry Ellis Invitational. The time currently ranks ninth in the Atlantic 10.

4x4: Ashley Gerald, Katie Koss, Mercedes Yanora, Courtney Foster
Finals – Sunday – 3:05 PM
The group of Gerald, Koss, Yanora, and Foster boasted SJU's second-fastest 4x4 performance just this past weekend at the Penn Relays and own a time of 3:51.73 heading into Sunday.

4x8: Lizzy Barrett, Lauren Hehir, Jaclyn Kogut, Sara Radzwilka, Emma Slattery
Finals – Sunday – 2:45 PM
Hehir, Barrett, Radzwilka, and Kogut ran the season's fastest 4x8 (9:08.91) at the Penn Relays this past Sunday. The experienced and talented Slattery has run on four Atlantic 10 4x8s – all have scored, including the 4x8 that won the Atlantic 10 title in 2011.

100M Hurdles: Kayla Charles, Georgia Mason
Trials – Saturday – 2:15 PM • Finals – Sunday – 11:40 AM

Mason (14.71) and Charles (15.30) rank in the A-10s top 20 of the 100H. Charles broke SJU's school record in the event in the preliminaries of last season's Atlantic 10 Championships and owns that PR of 14.47 entering Saturday's trials. Mason has ran under 14.74 twice this season and most recently ran a 14.73 at last weekend's Lehigh Games. 

400M Hurdles: Mia Greer
Trials – Saturday – 4:15 PM • Finals – Sunday – 1:10 PM
Greer is coming off of a pair of memorable 400H performances heading into Saturday's trials. On April 19, Greer won the 400H at the Widener Invitational, and just last weekend at the Lehigh Games, the senior broke her PR in the event to own a 400H PR of 1:06.95 entering this weekend.

3000S: Lauren Hehir, Erin James, Maureen O'Donnell
Finals – Saturday – 5:20 PM
The season-best performances of James, Hehir, and O'Donnell, all set at the Rider Invitational on April 12, rank in the A-10's top 15 for the outdoor season. In her final Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship, SJU's school-record holder O'Donnell (10:32.58) owns a season-best 11:23.33 heading into Saturday's finals. James owns a season-best 11:08.79 (10:38.93 PR) and took fifth in the event at the 2013 A-10s while Saturday's race will mark the first time Hehir (11:17.07 PR) will compete in the 3000S on the A-10 stage.  

High Jump: Rachel Kline, Emely Ramirez
Finals – Saturday – 2:00 PM
Freshmen Kline and Ramirez enter Saturday's event having both competed in the high jump at the A-10 Indoor Championships back in February. Ramirez jumped a PR 1.55m at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational while Kline posted a season-best mark of 1.50m at the Rider Invitational.

Long Jump & Triple Jump: Gabriella Becattini, Kati Polaski
Long Jump Finals – Saturday – 1:30 PM • Triple Jump 
Finals – Sunday – 12:30 PM
The dynamic junior duo of Becattini and Polaski will represent the Hawks in the long jump and triple jump finals this weekend. Coming off of a career-best indoor season in both the long jump and triple jump, Becattini has continued to dominate on the outdoor track and most recently boasted an outdoor PR of 11.73m in the triple at the prestigious Penn Relays last Friday. Becattini placed 12th in the event at 2013 A-10s. The junior long jumped an outdoor season-best 5.28m at the Colonial Relays, as well. Polaski long jumped a season-best 5.43m at the Penn Relays and enters her third consecutive long jump competition at the Atlantic 10 Championship level this Saturday.
