Women's Basketball Hosts Hofstra Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA - Coming off four straight wins on the road, and seven overall, the Saint Joseph's women's basketball team returns home Tuesday to host Hofstra at 7 p.m. at Hagan Arena.

GAME STORIES . . .
• The Hawks return to home Tuesday to host Hofstra after a four-game road swing.
• Saint Joseph’s went 4-0 during its road stretch, capping it with wins at Big 5 rivals Temple (W, 73-53) on Wednesday and at Villanova (W, 63-60) on Saturday.
• The Hawks have won seven straight entering Tuesday’s game and received one vote in this week’s Associated Press poll.
• Tuesday is just the second meeting between Saint Joseph’s and Hofstra. The Hawks won the first meeting, 71-55, last year at the Mack Sports Complex (11/25/12).
• Saint Joseph’s was selected Team of the Week by ESPN’s Graham Hays on Monday.
• The Hawks posted a 63-60 win at Villanova on Saturday as Erin Shields led four Hawks in double figures with 15 points.
• With Saturday’s win, the Hawks improved to 2-0 in the Big 5 and moved into a tie with Villanova for the all-time wins as they stand at 100-35 overall.
• Junior guard Natasha Cloud was named both Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Co-Player of the Week after averaging 17.5 points, 10.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game. Cloud tallied a career-best 21 points at Temple and matched her career-high with 13 assists, and followed with 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds at Villanova.
• Senior guard Erin Shields enters Tuesday’s game 11 points shy of the 1,000-point plateau for her career.
• Sophomore guard Ciara Andrews is coming off a career-best 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting at Villanova on Saturday.
• Members of the SJU student group Hawks Versus Cancer will be collecting donations and selling items prior and during Tuesday's game. Among the items being sold are t-shirts ($12), wristbands ($3)  and shoelaces ($1) with proceeds going to Team BAMit.
