The men’s squad will look to bounce back from an 11th-place showing at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals 10k this past Saturday. Senior Aaron Leskow led the way with a 31st-place finish.

Heading into this weekend, the Hawks own an advantage having run the course for Iona’s Meet of Champions back on September 21. At that meet, Leskow (4th, 25:35.46) and junior Logan Mohn (13th, 25:56.81) led the Crimson and Gray while seniors Tom O’Kane and Michael Rankin and freshman John Mascioli finished in the 30s. All five standouts own 8k PRs that have been set this season.

The Hawks will be without junior Paul Szulewski, SJU’s top runner from the 2012 IC4As, due to injury but return 2012 IC4A All-Star selections in Mohn, Leskow, and redshirt senior Pat Donnelly. Saint Joseph’s finished third at IC4As last season, ahead of A-10 foes La Salle and Duquesne.

The women’s squad is coming off of a 13th-place team finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals 6k this past Saturday. For the seventh consecutive meet, senior Lizzy Barret led all Hawks, finishing 43rd overall.

Barrett earned the bronze medal the last time she ran the course, back on September 21 at Iona’s Meet of Champions, to lead the Hawks to a seventh-place team finish. Redshirt seniors Maureen O’Donnell and Erin Giampietro, sophomore Lauren Hehir, and freshman Sarah Regnault rounded out SJU’s top five.

With seniors Emma Slattery and Erin James back in the mix, the Hawks will look to make a strong run at the 2013 ECACs. The 2012 ECAC All-Stars took eighth and 11th, respectively, last season while Barrett was good for 32nd.
