NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Leading the Saint Joseph’s men’s cross country squad to a fourth-place finish at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, junior Logan Mohn and freshman John Mascioli have been named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

Mohn led all Hawks for the first time this season as he checked in with a seventh-place finish in a new 8k PR of 23:55. The junior standout, who ran a 24:34 at the 2012 Princeton Invitational, took 39 seconds off of that time and 33 seconds off of his previous 8k PR, set two weekends ago at the Paul Short Invitational. Joined by runners from fellow Atlantic 10 schools in Duquesne, Fordham, and La Salle, Mohn finished behind the champion from Lehigh and four runners from Villanova to claim the top league performance of the meet.

In just his third collegiate 8k, Mascioli checked in 89th overall in an 8k PR of 25:12 to post the fastest Atlantic 10 rookie time of the meet. Mascioli took 31 seconds off of his previous PR in the event, run just two weeks earlier at the Paul Short Open, and has improved upon his first collegiate 8k PR by 1:20.

Mohn, Mascioli, and the Hawks will take next weekend off from competition to prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, November 2 in Mechanicsville, Va. Start time is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
