PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team fell to Cornell, 1-0, on Saturday evening at Sweeney Field. The loss hands the Hawks just their first defeat at home this season as SJU now stands at 1-3-3 overall.

Cornell's Peter Chodas took the ball himself and fired a shot into the high upper-90 to give the Big Red the 1-0 advantage at the 63:56 mark of the match.

For the game, Cornell (5-0-1) outshot Saint Joseph's 17-5 and landed nine shots on goal in comparison to SJU's two.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Andrew D'Ottavi (1-3-3) made seven saves in the loss.

Senior defender Colin Reilly played 24 minutes in his first collegiate start while freshman defender Coupar Lipp and freshmen midfielders Eric Jordan and Mike Stuski also made their first collegiate starts.

Freshman defender Bliss Harris played seven minutes off the bench in his first match since Hofstra due to injury.

The Hawks return to action this Thursday at St. Francis (N.Y.). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
