BRONX, N.Y. - Led by senior captain Aaron Leskow’s fourth-place finish in a field of 210 runners, the Saint Joseph’s men’s cross country squad compiled 113 points to take fourth out of 20 teams at Iona’s Meet of Champions on Saturday morning. The 8k race, hosted by Iona College, was held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.

For the second consecutive race, Leskow led all Hawks and checked in with a top-ten finish. Paced by a 5:09 mile, Leskow crossed the finish line in 25:35.46, missing a second-place finish by under three seconds to take fourth overall and lead SJU to the top-five team finish. 

Junior Logan Mohn checked in with a 13th-place finish in 25:56.81, which was paced by a 5:14 mile. Mohn finished in SJU's top five for the second time in as many meets in the early season.

The senior duo of Tommy O’Kane (26:23.76) and Michael Rankin (26:27.00) took 30th- and 32nd-place finishes, respectively. 

In his first collegiate 8k, freshman John Mascioli continued his impressive rookie campaign, posting SJU’s top freshman time for the second consecutive meet in 26:32.48 for a 38th-place finish.

The Hawks will return to action two weekends from today at the Paul Short Open. Hosted by Lehigh University on the course of the the Goodman Campus in Bethlehem, Pa., the meet will kick off at 10:00 a.m.
