Saint Joseph's senior Taryn Grober has been voted onto the 2019 CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball First Team for District 2, it was announced on Thursday afternoon. First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America teams announced in June.

Appearing in 42 games with 40 starts, Grober has given the Hawks added power in the middle of the line-up. Recently named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year, she ranks third on the team in home runs (four), fourth in runs batted in (23) and slugging percentage (.417), and sixth in runs scored (21).

Majoring in food marketing, Grober has been a staple of the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and SJU Athletic Director's Honor Roll during her academic career. The 37th Hawk in program history to reach 100 hits for her career earlier this season, she is the first to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors since Cara Deldeo in 2005.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable). Athletes who have not participated in at least 50 percent of their team's contests are not eligible.
