NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Finishing the regular season at 10-7 overall and 6-3 in the Atlantic 10, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team has earned the fourth seed for next week's 2019 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Championship, hosted by George Mason University at George Mason Stadium on Thursday, April 25, Friday, April 26, and Sunday, April 28.

Saint Joseph's will face fifth-seeded VCU (7-9, 4-5 A-10) in Thursday's first quarterfinal game, at 1:00 p.m. The Hawks defeated the Rams, 17-13, on Sweeney Field in regular-season action on March 29.

Immediately following that game, third-seeded Richmond (7-2 A-10) will face sixth-seeded Duquesne (4-5 A-10) at 4:00 p.m.

The championship expanded to six teams in 2016, giving top-seeded UMass (9-0 A-10) and second-seeded George Mason (7-2 A-10) a bye into Friday's semifinals. The winner of Sunday's championship final will receive the A-10's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

All five games of the Lacrosse Championship will be streamed through ESPN+.

Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Alex Kahoe, the Hawks have now reached the league's postseason tournament in each of the last four seasons.
