ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Saint Joseph's golf team is in first place by four strokes following Friday's opening round of the Navy Spring Invitational.

Playing at the par-71 Naval Academy Golf Club (6,611 yards), the Hawks shot 293 and hold a four-stroke lead in the 15-team field.

Individually, Ross Pilliod, Michael O'Brien and Richard Riva each carded rounds of 73 (+2) and are tied for sixth place. Posting a score of 74 (+2), J.T. Spina is tied for 13th place, while Wills Montgomery is tied for 51st after shooting 79 (+8). 

Binghamton's Ryan Rodriguez stands atop the individual leaderboard after shooting an even-par 71.

The final round is set for Saturday morning at 8:20 a.m.
