“We showed great growth over the weekend.  We used the GW Invite as a chance to try some different lineups. The Varsity 8 showed a lot of progress and we got faster as the weekend went on,” said head coach Gerry Quinlan.

In Sunday’s George Mason Invitational, the Hawks began the day by sweeping the A-10 teams, Duquesne and George Mason, to advance to the points round.

In the finals, competing against the likes of Kansas, West Virginia, Eastern Michigan and Delaware, the Hawks finished third in the Varsity 8, the 2V8, and the V4 and took second in the 3V8.

"We are really proud of the crews after this marathon weekend.  After advancing all the crews by winning the A-10 portion of Sunday's regatta, we battled very hard in the finals. And we didn't let the fatigue of our fifth race of the weekend dampen our spirits.  We had some gutsy rows,” said Quinlan.

Saint Joseph's will return to action on Saturday, April 20 at the Cherry Hill Invitational on the Cooper River.
