The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team has announced its spring schedule, with a combined five events set for March and April.
Coming off a stellar regular season in which they posted a 14-5-2 record and advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship, the Hawks return to the field this spring facing some of the top teams in the region in exhibition play. Saint Joseph's opens with a match at La Salle on March 1 and caps the month on March 30 at the City 6 Tournament. Moving to April, the Hawks head to West Chester on April 5, then to Fairleigh Dickinson a week later on April 12. Wrapping up the spring slate, SJU will head to Drexel on April 23 for a 7 p.m. match with the dragons.
"With graduating six quality seniors in both soccer and leaders, this spring will be a great test to see where our current team steps up. Our practices have been intense, positive and we are very excited for the potential we have," said SJU head coach Jess Mannella. "We are starting with La Salle, which is always a great battle and rivalry, so we will have a big test right away. Last year, we won the City 6, which is a great tournament for all of the local talent to get together and play. It's also a great opportunity for youth soccer players in the area to see the local colleges playing in one space."
