Just over two weeks into the 2018 season and the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team is off to a solid start posting a 3-0-1 record and earning regional recognition in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll. Part of the reason for the Hawks' early success has been due in part to its 11 newcomers, which features 10 freshman and one sophomore transfer. 

Ahead of Friday's match at #20 Princeton, Hawk fans can get to know a little more about the newest members of the SJU women's soccer program.

Erica Behr
Freshman | Defense
Langhorne, Pa. | Villa Joseph Marie
Helping Villa Joseph Marie to four-straight Association of Catholic Academies championships, Erica Behr began her high school career helping her team capture a PIAA State title. Serving as a team captain as a senior, she was named All-State, AACA MVP, and All-AACA First Team, while being named to the All-Southeastern PA Team.

Miranda Behr
Freshman | Midfield
Langhorne, Pa. | Villa Joseph Marie
Playing alongside her sister, Erica, Miranda Behr earned Bucks County Courier Times Golden Team First Team as a senior. A four-year letterwinner, Behr was a key part of Villa Joseph Marie's PIAA State championship as a rookie and four-consecutive Association of Catholic Academies titles.

Melanie Cunha
Sophomore | Forward
Warren, N.J. | Watchung Hills/Montclair State
A transfer from Montclair State where she earned NJAC Honorable Mention recognition, Melanie Cunha posted eight goals and an assist for 17 points in her freshman campaign. Prior to Montclair State, Cunha was a four-year standout at Watchung Hill High School where she earned All-State First Team and All-Skyland Conference First Team accolades as a senior.

Mackenzie Ehresman
Freshman | Defense
Jamison, Pa. | Central Bucks South
An anchor on defense at Central Bucks South, Mackenzie Ehresman twice earned All-Suburban One League accolades. Along with individual honors, the two-time captain also helped her team to the state finals as a junior.

Jenna Leonzi
Freshman | Forward/Midfield
Allentown, Pa. | Parkland
Jenna Leonzi dons a Hawk jersey after a star-studded career at Parkland High School in which she capped her career fifth all-time in assists and in the top-25 for points. Along with individual recognition, Leonzi also led Parkland to four EPC titles and three district championships, and Lehigh Valley United to a No. 3 ranking in the state, 10th in the region and 20th nationally.

Aleksa Peev
Freshman | Forward/Midfield
Chalfont, Pa. | Central Bucks South
Leading Central Bucks South in goals (12) as a senior, Aleksa Peev earned SOL First Team All-League, First Team All-Intel, All-State, All-Southeastern Pennsylvania and All-Star honors. A four-year letterwinner, Peev helped her team capture a PIAA District AAA State Championship and individually was invited to US Club ID2 training in 2014, to the National Training Center from 2014-16 and PDP events in 2016 and 2017. She also follows continues the family tradition of playing soccer at Hawk Hill as her father, Aleksander, was a four-year standout for SJU from 1995-98 and still ranks among the program leaders in points, goals and assists.

Annelise Peterson
Freshman | Forward
Yardley, Pa. | Germantown Academy
A three-year starter at Germantown Academy, Annelise Peterson capped her career scoring 13 goals and adding eight assists as a senior. Standing tall in big matches, she scored the game-winning goal to lift Germantown Academy to the 2015 Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association state title. As a freshman, Peterson helped Pennington School to the Mercer County Tournament title and additionally captured two-straight USYSA Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup titles (2013, 2014).

Gabriella Senni
Freshman | Forward/Midfield
Burlington, N.J. | Burlington
Leading Burlington Township High School in scoring the past three seasons, Gabriella Senni earned three-consecutive Offensive Player of the Year accolades to go along with Burlington County Scholastic League All-Star honors. A two-year captain, she led her team with 17 goals in 2017 and was selected a Burlington County Times First Team All-Star and First Team All-Burlington County.

Ana Sulentic
Freshman | Midfield/Defense
Middletown, Ohio | Madison
A standout on the field and in the classroom, Ana Sulentic earned 4.0 Scholar Athlete four times, while twice being named All-League First Team and All-District selection at Madison High School. Sulentic also brings club success to Hawks Hill as she won the MRL Championship and State Cup Championship as part of both Cincinnati United Premier and Cincinnati Development Academy.

Kendal Trickey
Freshman | Defense
Wilmington, Del. | Sanford School
Earning First Team All-Conference honors three times, Kendal Trickey capped her high school career with 56 goals and 24 assists even after missing her junior year due to injury. Garnering All-State honors as a senior, sophomore and freshman, she also was named First Team All-Catholic Conference as an eighth grader at Ursuline Academy and has competed for Penn Fusion Academy.

Asia Whittenberger
Freshman | Defense
Boiling Springs, Pa. | Boiling Springs
A two-time Mid-Penn Colonial Division First Team All-Star, Asia Whittenberger helped Boiling Spring High School to first undefeated regular season as a sophomore and followed with a stellar junior campaign in which she earned Mid-Pen Conference Second Team honoree and TeamSnap All-State All-Star accolades. Serving as team captain as a senior, Whittenberger missed the year due to injury, but has bounced back and is a key part of the Hawks' goalkeeping.
