Saint Joseph's is delighted to welcome fans to another season of Hawk basketball at Hagan Arena! Please be advised of the following spectator information for Saturday night's men's basketball home opener against Princeton:
• The inaugural “Fan Fest” event will be held regardless of weather, beginning at 5:30 p.m., directly outside the main entrance. Most activities will be moved into the Rec Center if rain is likely. Arena doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
• Three specialty food trucks – Nick's Roast Beef, Kona Pizza and Innovative Catering – will be serving from 5:30 p.m. until game time and again at halftime. Purchased food may be brought into the arena, and there will be free re-entry privileges at the half.
• Inside Hagan Arena, there are four renovated concession areas (two on each level) and another near completion. New offerings include pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, loaded mac & cheese bowls, specialty hot dogs, sausage & pepper sandwiches, and ice cream.
• Also new this year, concession stands will accept debit cards, credit cards and Hawk Cards in addition to cash.
• The new Landmark Beer Garden, located on the pool patio (or Rec Center in case of rain), will serve multiple beer and wine selections within the designated “Fan Fest” area. A legal I.D. will be required of all customers. Please note that no alcoholic beverages are permitted in the arena.
• PARKING: Parking in the main lot or Hawks Landing garage is $10. Fans are encouraged to arrive early given “Fan Fest” activities and the likelihood of crowded surface parking.
• SECURITY: As is now the case at all major sporting events, additional screening (e.g. “Wanding”) of all spectators will be in place. Please allow extra time to enter Hagan Arena and reach your seat.
• WILL CALL: Both complimentary tickets and general Will Call tables will be located in the Multipurpose Room (Rec Center), as has been the case for past major events.
Finally, we hope all fans will join the SJU Cheerleaders, Dance Team, Hawk Band and Student Section with a new Stand and Flap tradition at the opening tip. Follow the prompts to stand at your seat and flap until the first Hawk basket, just like the actual Hawk mascot.
