NEWARK, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team capped the fall portion of its schedule this past weekend at the NJIT Invitational.

As a team, the Hawks combined for 18 total victories through the doubles and singles flights.

In doubles play, Isis Gill-Reid and Amanda Nava went undefeated at the tops flight with three wins across both days. The pair opened play with a 6-2 victory on Saturday over NJIT's Eltony and Sampaio and followed with a 6-0 win over Sacred Heart's Lauria and Podsiebierski, and a 6-1 win against Prinos and Lombardi of Fairfield on Sunday.

In the second flight, Maureen Devlin and Laura Gomez bested Sacred Heart's Tobia and Navarro 6-4 on Saturday and split their matches on Sunday earning a 6-2 victory against Fairfield's Komer and Prinos.

At the third flight, Katherine Devlin and Iswarya Vel were 6-1 winners over Campos and Pil of Fairfield and 6-2 victors against Sacred Heart's Oates and Vovlo.

Additionally, Madison Chontos teamed with NJIT's Mikaya Hamilton for a pair of wins at the third flight.

In singles play, Nava went 3-0 in her three first flight matches. On the weekend, the SJU rookie topped NJIT's Natacha Minc, 7-5, 7-6 (5), and followed with a 7-6 (2), 6-1 win versus Brianne Lauria of Sacred Heart and a 6-0, 6-2 win over Fairfield's Sarah Stuhlmann.

In the second flight, Maureen Devlin posted a 6-2, 7-5 win over Olivia Podsiebierski of Sacred Heart, while Gomez finished the weekend with wins over Fairfield's Anna Komer (4-6, 6-2, (10-7)) and Kiera Tobia of Sacred Heart (7-5, 6-3) in the third flight.

Playing at the fourth flight, Gill-Reid bested Sabrina Navarro of Sacred Heart, 6-3, 6-3 with Katherine Devlin adding wins at the fifth flight against Courtney Connors of Fairfield (6-1, 6-2) and NJIT's Mayar Eltony (1-0, retired).

Chontos and classmate Madeline Hill rounded out the weeked playing in the sixth flight for Saint Joseph's.
