The Saint Joseph’s men’s rowing team hosted the annual Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River on October 14, and came away with a pair of top-three finishes.


The Hawks’ Varsity 8 placed third in its race behind Navy and Drexel, clocking a 12:27.81.

SJU’s three Varsity 4 boats took third, fourth and fifth place behind Navy’s two boats. The Hawks’ “A” boat posted a time of 14:09.71.

Saint Joseph’s Freshman 8 earned a sixth-place finish in the collegiate debut for the crew as boats from Navy, Drexel and Penn took the top five spots.

The Hawks will next compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston this weekend, competing on Sunday, October 22.
