Pete O'Hara returns for his second season on the Saint Joseph's baseball coaching staff in 2019. After spending his first season on Hawk Hill as a volunteer coach, he was promoted to a full-time assistant coaching position in October of 2018.
“Pete adds a great deal of energy into our team culture; his level of organization and work ethic is very visible and we are happy that he now has more responsibility within the program,” head coach Fritz Hamburg said of O'Hara, who will work with the team's outfielders and as the squad's base running coach.
O’Hara enjoyed a standout career on the diamond at Delaware Valley, finishing his career second in program history with 200 hits, 154 runs scored, and 78 stolen bases, while ranking fourth with 32 doubles. After earning a pair of All-Conference honors as an outfielder, the Aggies’ three-year captain spent his senior season at shortstop, earning All-Conference and All-Region accolades there as well.
As a member of the football team, O’Hara helped DelVal to two Middle Atlantic Conference championships and a pair of NCAA Second Round appearances. He was named the Delaware Valley Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2014 and was a three-time member of both the fall and spring academic honor rolls in the MAC.
Prior to coming to Hawk Hill, O’Hara spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater. He began his coaching career at Arcadia in 2015.
