Field Hockey Adds Laura Lasprogata for 2016 Season

The Saint Joseph's field hockey program will welcome 10 new student-athletes for the 2016 season.  Over the coming weeks, we'll introduce Hawk fans to the new additions, one by one. This week: Laura Lasprogata.

The Saint Joseph's field hockey program will welcome Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, native Laura Lasprogata to Hawk Hill for the 2016 season.  Lasprogata was a standout goalkeeper for Harriton High School and is a member of the WC Eagles club program.

Lasprogata was named to the All-Main Line and All-Central League First Teams in 2015 after leading the Rams to district playoff appearances in both 2014 and 2015.  A four-year varsity starter, she holds the Harriton school record for saves in a game with 36.

“I am excited about joining the positive atmosphere of the growing field hockey program at Saint Joseph's,” Lasprogata said.  “The coaching staff has been extremely welcoming and supportive.”

Lasprogata is a three-time National Indoor Tournament pool champion from her time with WC Eagles.  She was also a member of title-winning teams at a pair of National Field Hockey Festivals and a Disney Field Hockey Showcase.

In addition to her field hockey career, Lasprogata was a member of the Harriton lacrosse team.  She was named to the All-Main Line and All-Central League Second Team as a junior after Harriton qualified for both the district and state playoffs in 2014 and 2015.  Lasprogata will join the Hawk women's lacrosse team as well, in time for the 2017 season.

“Saint Joseph's is a great academic fit, with all the programs and support available, along with the atmosphere of the student body,” she said.

“Laura is an explosive and talented local athlete that we're thrilled to keep at home,” said head coach Lynn Farquhar.  “A two-sport athlete, Laura will be competing for the Hawks in goal during the fall field hockey season and will transition to the field for women's lacrosse in the spring.”

Lasprogata and the rest of the new Hawks will join the field hockey program in time for the 2016 season.
