LYNCHBURG, Va. - Saint Joseph's Claire Minnoe and Alex Zachem teamed for an 8-3 victory in the opening round of the 2015 ITA Atlantic Regional Championship on Thursday.

Playing at the Liberty University Tennis Complex, the Hawks faced Navy's Sam Droop and Catalina Rico in the early afternoon in the opening round of the doubles bracket. Setting the tone early, the Saint Joseph's pair took control of the match early behind consistent first serves and strong returns and used timely net play to seal the victory.  

Minnoe and Zachem will now face VCU's Olga Barshcheuskaya and Anna Rasmussen at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the round of 32. Competing in the singles draw, Minnoe will face Pitt's Lolade Ogungbesan at 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the opening round.
