Every Monday, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse program will highlight one member of its 2014-15 squad. Leading us into our 25th week will be freshman Rena Carabases, an attack out of Mount Laurel, New Jersey!
1. Why did you choose Saint Joseph's?
I chose Saint Joseph's because I wanted to be close to home, I liked the size of the school, and I fell in love with the campus when I first visited.
2. What is your favorite thing about Hawk Hill?
My favorite thing about Hawk Hill is how pretty and intimate the campus is around Sweeney Field.
3. What is your favorite place on Hawk Hill?
My favorite place on Hawk Hill is Barbelin Hall and the adjoining courtyard.
4. What is the best course you've taken or are currently taking at Saint Joseph's?
The best course I took was Asian Spiritualities because it was very interesting and we got to do yoga in class!
5. What is your major at Saint Joseph's? Dream job?
My major at SJU is food marketing. I picked this because I wanted to major in business, and the food marketing program appealed to me with its successful job placement and internship record. My dream job would be to work for a big international company like Campbell Soup, Pepsi, or Coke.
6. Do you have any pregame rituals?
I have to make my last practice shot and then say a quick Greek prayer!
7. What is your favorite thing to do while not playing lacrosse?
While not playing lacrosse, my favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends!
8. What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
My favorite memory is winning a State Championship my senior year.
9. Do you have any hidden talents?
I can pretty much break anything.
10. Who is your favorite professional team and athlete?
My favorite professional team is the Philadelphia Eagles. My favorite athlete is Tony Parker.
11. Who is your favorite musical artist?
My favorite artist is Drake.
12. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I wish I could read people's minds.
13. What is your favorite food? Favorite restaurant?
My favorite food is chicken parmesan, and my favorite restaurant is The Bistro in Haddonfield.
14. If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you bring with you?
- My phone.
- Lots of food.
- My pillow.
15. If you could have dinner with three people, past or present, who would they be?
- The Pope.
- My great grandmother on my mother's side.
- Beyoncé.
16. Who is your hero?
My hero is my brother because he always pushed me to do better in everything I did.
