Saint Joseph's University student-athletes continue to make positive progress towards graduation and posted a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 93 percent, according to the NCAA's 2013 GSR Report. This marks the third consecutive year that SJU's rate has shown an increase.
Saint Joseph's rate is higher than the average of all NCAA Division I student-athletes, which is 82 percent, the highest ever nationally. Since the NCAA first began tracking the Graduation Success Rate with student-athletes who entered college in 1995, the rate has increased eight percentage points.
The GSR report represents the most recent four graduating classes of Division I student athletes who entered college between 2003 and 2006.
"We are again very proud of our student-athletes' work in the classroom. It is a tribute to their commitment to learning and to the emphasis placed on academics by our coaches and academic support team. We continue to commit to 'Developing Everyday Champions'," said director of athletics Don DiJulia.
