NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph’s freshman forward Quinn Maguire earned a pair of honors from the Atlantic 10 on Tuesday afternoon as she was tabbed the league’s Field Hockey Co-Player and Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced.
Maguire scored both goals in the Hawks’ 2-1 overtime win at Villanova on Friday, the first tallies of her collegiate career. After her goal early in the second half tied the game, she found the back of the cage just over two minutes into the extra frame to send the Hawks home with a win. On Sunday, she netted her third of the weekend to give the Hawks some critical breathing room en route to a 3-0 win over Drexel.
A native of Media, Pennsylvania, Maguire now sits in a tie for the team lead in goals scored while ranking tied for second in points.
Carly Kissinger of Saint Louis shared the Co-Player of the Week award.
Maguire and the Hawks return to action on Friday at #15 James Madison before hosting #22 Rutgers on Sunday.
