Pibernat began his career as one of the top juniors in Spain before training at the Catalan Tennis Federation's International Tennis Federation Center in Barcelona at age 15. He then came to the United States, enrolling at Anderson University in South Carolina. He made his presence felt right away, helping lead the Trojans to three consecutive Carolinas Conference titles and a top-20 national ranking while playing in the NCAA Tournament each year of his collegiate career.
After moving into the coaching ranks, Pibernat has worked with the some of the top junior players in Europe and the U.S. He was also part of the coaching team of Steven Diez as he reached the final qualification round of the men's singles draw at the 2016 US Open.
