56 Aaron Barras
Back for his second season in the Saint Joseph's dugout is assistant coach Aaron Barras. He will once again work with the Hawk pitching staff.
Barras graduated summa cum laude from Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, where he was the baseball team captain and MVP. Barras notched a 10-1 record his senior season with a strikeout-to-walk ratio better than three-to-one. He was also awarded All-District and All-State honors in his senior season.
Barras enrolled at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala., and earned All-Conference honors as a freshman. He then moved on to the University of New Orleans, where he won a Sun Belt conference title with the Privateers in 2000. After playing in the CICL Wooden Bat summer league in Springfield, Ill., Barras returned to Spring Hill to finish his career. He recorded 266 strikeouts in 264 innings, and shares the school record for most strikeouts in a game (15). He also twirled two one-hit and two two-hit shutouts.
A 2002 graduate of Spring Hill, Barras holds a degree in Communication Arts with a concentration in Public Relations, Marketing and Business Management. Hailing from New Orleans, he now makes his home in the Philadelphia area.
