Baseball Opens New Home Field

The Saint Joseph's baseball team opened its new home field with a 5-1 win over Iona on March 9, 2012.

2012: Earned All-Philadelphia Big 5 honors...Took over the starting catching duties early in the season and also appeared as a designated hitter...Led the squad in doubles and extra-base hits...Ranked second on the team in slugging percentage...Drove in three runs in win over Canisius on February 18...Hit his first career home run in 3-2 win over Rhode Island on March 30...Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in win over Massachusetts on April 13...Tied a school record with three doubles in Atlantic 10 Tournament victory over Rhode Island on May 23.

High School: Dominated opposing pitchers to the tune of a .561 average, 12 doubles, four home runs and 35 runs batted in during his senior campaign, striking out just three times all year...Named to the All-State Class AA Second Team by the New York State Sports Writers Association in 2011...Earned All-Suburban Council First Team accolades in 2010 and 2011...Helped South Colonie to an 18-2 record in 2011, setting a new school record for wins...Played in the Connie Mack World Series in 2011.
