WASHINGTON, D.C. - Officials from George Washington University, Saint Joseph's University, and Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals have announced that the two schools will play the first game in the brand new Nationals Park on Saturday, March 22. The game will start at 1:05 p.m., and is the first event to be held in the new ballpark along the Anacostia River.

The matchup will allow the Nationals a warm-up of sorts in preparation for the official opening of the facility a week later. It will also provide an opportunity for stadium employees and vendors to go through a dry run before sellout crowds arrive for the 2008 Major League Baseball season.

Admission to the game will not be open to the general public. Tickets will be available to fans of Saint Joseph's and George Washington at a later date. The process for obtaining tickets will be announced at a later date.

The game will be the finale of the three-game series between the Hawks and the Colonials. The series, the first in conference play for the teams, starts Friday, March 21 with a doubleheader at George Washington's Barcroft Park in Arlington, Va. First pitch in game one is slated for noon.
