PHILADELPHIA (02/26/02) - Saint Joseph's got a pair of home runs from Justin Godusky and a two-run shot by Kevin Dougher, helping SJU rally for an 8-5 win over Drexel on Tuesday afternoon. the Hawks rallied from a 5-3 eighth inning deficit to secure their first win of the season. Saint Joseph's now stands at 1-6, while the Dragons slipped to 1-6, losing their fourth in a row. Leading 5-3, Drexel's Bruce Boehm entered in relief in the eighth inning replacing Greg Barnett, who had pitched seven innings, giving up three runs on six hits and recording 10 strikeouts. Godusky led off the eighth with his second homer of the game. After Bill McCollum reached on an error, Dougher took a Boehm pitch over the left field fence to give Saint Joseph's the lead. SJU tacked on two more runs in the ninth for the final margin of victory. Drexel was up 4-1 in the first after Hawk starter Ryan Hoagey walked the bases loaded and gave up a grand slam to Braden Watson.The Dragons got another run in the fourth on a solo shot. McCollum picked up the win in relief for the Hawks, after starting the game at designated hitter. He tossed four innings, giving up one hit with five strikeouts. Godusky went three-for-five with two home runs and four RBI. The Crimson and Gray will travel to Navy this weekend for a three game series.
