PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's freshman righthander Mark Dolaghan was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on February 12th after making a stellar collegiate debut this weekend at Norfolk State.
Dolaghan twirled four scoreless innings in the Hawks' narrow 4-3 defeat on Saturday, February 10. He surrendered one hit while walking two batters and striking out three.
Dolaghan, a native of Rutherford, NJ, is the first Hawk to be named to the conference's weekly honor roll since Al Braun was named Pitcher of the Week on May 23rd, 2005. It is the first time a Hawk was named Rookie of the Week since Adriano Petrutz earned the honor in back-to-back weeks in March of 2004.
The Hawks will travel to North Carolina this weekend to face the Elon Phoenix. The series starts with a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
