Men's Basketball to Have 15 Games Televised This Season

PHILADELPHIA -

The Saint Joseph's men's basketball team will have a minimum of 15 games televised this season, including nine that will be seen locally in Philadelphia.

The Comcast Network (formerly CN8) will pick up three additional games this year, starting with the season opener against Drexel on November 13, which is the first game in the Michael J. Hagan '85 Arena. TCN will also broadcast the road game at Rider on November 30, and the Big 5 clash against Penn from The Palestra on January 25.

Six Atlantic 10 contests will be televised regionally as part of CBS College Sports syndication package. Comcast SportsNet will broadcast the Fordham game on January 9, the Temple game from The Palestra on February 20 and the regular-season finale against La Salle at Hagan Arena on March 6. The Comcast Network will air the conference opener at Temple on January 6, the game at Duquesne on January 31 and the visit from Saint Louis on February 9.

Saint Joseph's will appear on ESPN2 on December 9 in the annual rivalry game with Villanova at 9 p.m. from The Palestra. The Hawks' January 23rd game with Dayton from Hagan Arena will be seen on ESPNU, while the February 14th game at Massachusetts will be televised nationally on CBS College Sports.

The Hawks are participating in the 2009 Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and Fox College Sports and Fox Sports Net will combine to televise the semifinals, consolation and championship games on November 22-23.

SJU's game at Minnesota on December 12 will be seen on the Big Ten Network, while the games at Rhode Island on January 13 (Cox New England) and Xavier on February 17 (Fox Sports Ohio) will be broadcast in those areas.

CBS College Sports Regional (outlets to be announced) will air the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals from Atlantic City on March 12 while CBS College Sports Network will broadcast the Semifinals on March 13. For the first time ever, the A-10 Championship game will be televised by CBS on Sunday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
