PHILADELPHIA - Join Phil Martelli and the city's basketball coaches and their wives in their fight against cancer by attending the American Cancer Society's Third Annual Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall, presented by Independence Blue Cross, on Saturday, April 29. The black-tie event at the Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue will also feature exclusive items in both live and silent auctions.
The Philadelphia Coaches vs. Cancer group leads the country in fund-raising, while Martelli and the others strive to meet this year's goal of one million dollars.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. Dinner and dancing begins at 8 p.m.
A live auction includes "experience" items such as a trip to the 2007 Final Four, behind-the-scenes packages for Eagles and Flyers games, and a chance to play basketball against the Philadelphia coaches in the Palestra.
The silent auction will feature items from all of Philadelphia's professional and college teams, dining and shopping packages and autographed sports memorabilia.
Tickets are $ 300 per person, with a 10-person corporate table with ad costing $ 3,500. Advertising and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
To purchase tickets, contact the SJU basketball office at 610-660-1706 or the American Cancer Society at 215-985-5400.
