PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior Chet Stachitas is leading the nation in 3-point field goal percentage, in the current NCAA statistics through games of December 12.
Stachitas is converting 63 percent of the long-range shots, making 17 of 27 for the Hawks, who are 4-2 on the season. The senior guard has accounted for 35 percent of the team's total of 48 three-point field goals made.
On December 6, he matched his career-high by scoring 27 points in SJU's win over Kansas, and making a personal best 6-of-7 three-point attempts.
Stachitas is the team's leading scorer with an 18.0 average, while also shooting 50 percent from the field and 90.6 percent from the foul line.
Saint Joseph's has a short break from action during final exams and resumes play on December 21 when it visits Bucknell.
