PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's freshman Carl Jones has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week in the final week of the regular season. It marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.
Jones averaged 12.5 points and three rebounds while committing just 2 turnovers in 41 minutes off the bench as Saint Joseph's earned wins over George Washington and La Salle to earn a berth in this week's A-10 Championship.
The 5-11 guard from Garfield Heights, Ohio, made 8-of-15 shots from the field and added four assists on the week. He had 16 points in 23 minutes versus La Salle and scored nine in the Hawks' first A-10 road win of the year at GW.
The Hawks are seeded 12th in the tournament and will travel to fifth-seeded Rhode Island on Tuesday, March 9, in a First Round game.
