The Hawks are seeking their 20th victory of the season while in the midst of the longest winning streak in school history and the second longest in Atlantic 10 history. SJU is 19-0, 8-0 in the conference, and 2-0 in the Big 5.
La Salle is 8-12 and 3-4 in Atlantic 10, with a Big 5 record of 0-2.
Jameer Nelson and Delonte West comprise the nation's best backcourt and continue to lead the Hawks with 20.4 and 18.8 points per game, respectively. Junior Pat Carroll has come on strong as of late, averaging 18.2 points in the last four games to increase his season average to 10.2. In the last four games, Carroll is shooting 74.1 percent from 3-point range.
Tomorrow is also National Coaches vs. Cancer Awareness Day, created by the Coaches vs. Cancer Program and the Philly Six coaches. To bring attention to this cause, all coaches will be wearing sneakers to the game as a sign of support for the Coaches vs. Cancer Program that the NABC has instituted, concentrating on bringing and end to cancer.
The Hawks' next game is a showdown with Atlantic 10 West leader Dayton on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. Game time is 7 p.m.
