PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Pat Carroll scored 28 points, Chet Stachitas had 11 points, and Dwayne Jones contributed 10 points and 14 rebounds to lead Saint Joseph's to an 83-60 win over Duquesne on Saturday.
Carroll was 8-for-10 from 3-point range, tying his career high for makes behind the arc, and 10-for-13 from the field while Jones registered his third-straight double-double and 11th of the season for Saint Joseph's, (11-8, 8-1 Atlantic 10).
Jack Higgins led Duquesne (6-16, 3-6) with 14 points and Bryant McAllister had 13.
The Hawks, who have won eight of their last 10 games after starting the season 3-6, held onto the lead in the Atlantic 10 East.
The Dukes came into the game averaging 75.3 points over their last three games, but only shot 37 percent from the field.
Saint Joseph went on a 27-8 first-half run to put the game away early. The Dukes managed to whittle the margin to 37-15 with 5:50 left in the half, but the Hawks pulled ahead and led by at least 19 points for the rest of the game.
Carroll scored 16 points in the first half and Jones had 11 first-half rebounds.
