RICHMOND, VA - Six different Hawk pitchers were not enough to slow down Virginia Commonwealth (3-0), as the Rams completed a three-game sweep of Saint Joseph's (0-3) with a 9-3 win on Sunday.

The Rams recorded three runs in the first inning, including two scored on back-to-back wild pitches by SJU starter Bob Unkel (0-1). VCU then added a run on a sacrifice fly in the second inning.

The Hawks' Chris Hildreth scored in the third inning to close the gap to 4-1, but the Rams plated three in the fourth inningoff Jeff Williams.

SJU rallied in the ninth with two runs, but it was not enough to catch VCU's lead. Andrew Heineman and Mike Davis scored for the Hawks.

VCU's Marcus Davis registered his first win on the mound. Davis struck-out five and walked two batters in 5.0 innings. Unkel pitched 3.0 innings and walked three, suffering the loss.

SJU travels to Florida State next weekend for a three-game series.
