NEW YORK - Saint Joseph's men's basketball capped off its 2004-05 season with the remarkable run to the NIT Finals in New York City. The Hawks won four consecutive games in the NIT to get to the Madison Square Garden, and then defeated Memphis to make their second appearance in the championship game under coach Phil Martelli. Although the Hawks fell to South Carolina, 60-57, on a last-second shot, this year will always be remembered for the Hawks' resiliency and the leadership of Pat Carroll and John Bryant.
