PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's standout Ahmad Nivins has been touring the country with workouts for a number of NBA teams, as the NBA Draft nears on June 25.
Thus far this summer, the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year has worked out for Boston, Indiana, Minnesota, Charlotte and Milwaukee. Nivins also participated in a recent 36-player group workout session hosted by the New Jersey Nets, which was attended by a number of NBA teams.
Nivins worked out for New York on June 17 and continued a busy schedule leading up to draft day, as he was set to visit Portaland (June 19), Sacramento (June 20), San Antonio (June 21), L.A. Lakers (June 22) and Cleveland (June 24).
Nivins capped off an outstanding career by leading the team with 19.2 points and 11.7 rebounds, while earning Player of the Year honors from both the Atlantic 10 Conference and the Philadelphia Big 5. He was an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America selection and finished his career ranked third all-time in scoring (1,789) and sixth in rebounding (955). Nivins set the school record for career field goal percentage with 62.7 percent.
