PHILADELPHIA - Head coach Phil Martelli announced that after an examination by the doctor today, it is highly unlikely that Pat Carroll will play in Saint Joseph's season opener at top-ranked Kansas on Tuesday (11/23). Carroll suffered a dislocated right shoulder (non-shooting arm) at the beginning of November and has since been sidelined.

His return is possible for the Hawks' game with Davidson on Nov. 27 and highly probable for the game against Drexel on Dec. 4

Carroll will be re-examined by doctors next Friday (Nov. 26) to determine his status for the Davidson game.
