DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Warren Williams had 17 points and four assists to lead Dayton to a 58-54 victory over Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, to snap the Hawks' four-game winning streak. It also ends SJU's Atlantic 10 winning streak of 21 games, which ranks as the third longest in conference history.

Saint Joseph's (7-7, 4-1 Atlantic 10) started the second half with a 29-26 lead over Dayton (10-5, 3-1) and took its biggest lead of the game, 36-28 with 16:12 to go. The Hawks maintained a lead until the 7:58 mark when Norman Plummer scored a 3-pointer to put Dayton ahead, 45-44. Saint Joseph's came back with a 3-pointer by Chet Stachitas to take the lead and kept it until Marques Bennett scored on a 3-pointer to put Dayton ahead 50-49 with 5:21 left to play.

Dayton kept the lead the rest of the way. With seven seconds remaining, Dwayne Lee hit a free throw to cut the Flyers' lead to 56-54, but Plummer hit a layup with three seconds left to give Dayton its final margin of victory.

Stachitas led Saint Joseph's with 18 points, while Pat Carroll added 14. Dwayne Jones topped all players with 11 rebounds while tying his career-high with six blocked shots.

It was Saint Joseph's third consecutive loss at the UD Arena. Last year the Hawks fell to Xavier in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals, ending their 27-game unbeaten streak.

The Hawks go on the road on Saturday, visiting Massachusetts.
