PHILADELPHIA (4/02/03) - The Saint Joseph's University baseball team will take on Temple tonight at 7:00 PM in the finals of the Liberty Bell Classic at Veterans Stadium. Temple defeated Penn 7-4, while SJU topped Delaware, 7-1, to advance to the title game. Tickets to the game are $5 and can be redeemed for a general admission ticket to the Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves series on April 8, 9 or 10. A single elimination event, the tournament got underway with the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, March 25. SJU holds a record of 10-11 all-time in Liberty Bell Classic games. In the last ten years the Hawks have failed to advance to the semifinals just twice in 1997 and 2001. This is SJU's second trip to the tournament final. In 1999 SJU reached the championship game for the first time in school history, dropping a 14-13 decision to Villanova.
