PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior outfielder Matt Godusky was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball Player of the Week in voting conducted by the head coaches of the Big 5. It is Godusky's first Big 5 honor, and marks the third time this season a Hawk has earned the weekly award.

Godusky came through in a big way for the Hawks this weekend, hitting two home runs and driving in four runs to power the Hawks to a 10-8 victory at Duquesne. His two-run blast in the ninth provided the Hawks with what turned out to be the game-winning runs. He is now second on the squad in home runs with three.

On Sunday, Godusky was 6-for-10 with three runs scored, four RBIs, and two home runs in a doubleheader split at Duquesne. For the week, Godusky was 7-for-14, good for a scorching .500 batting average.

Temple's Matt Mongiardini was voted the Big 5 Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The award is Mongiardini's first Big 5 honor of the season as well.

Saint Joseph's returns to the diamond Friday night as the team heads west for a series against Saint Louis. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EDT.
