PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's basketball team will play its final tuneup before the regular season when it hosts Widener on Thursday, November 9 at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available for the game and can be purchased at the door.
The Hawks open the 2006-07 regular season next Tuesday, November 14, by hosting Fairfield at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WNTP (990 AM).
Season ticket holders will be able to pick up their tickets on Thursday night, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Rec Center. Food and entertainment will be provided.
Any season ticket holders not able to attend the ticket pickup on Thursday, can also obtain their packets on Tuesday evening prior to the regular-season opener. Ticket pickup will again begin at 5 p.m. that night in the Rec Center.
The Widener squad will be familiar to new Hawk assistant coach David Duda, as he came to Saint Joseph's after serving as the head coach of Widener for the last eight seasons. Widener is also the alma mater of head coach Phil Martelli, who now begins his 12th season with the Hawks.
